Cronología

Mayo 2011

  • Introducción de la quinta generación del Ford Explorer en el mercado Surcoreano.
  • Disponible solo con el motor Duratec 35 de 3.5 Lts, tipo V6 aspirado, el cual genera 290hp. La única transmisión disponible es una automática de 6 velocidades y el único sistema de tracción disponible es 4WD.

¿? 2012

  • Se introduce una variante con el motor EcoBoost de 2.0 Lts, tipo straight-4 turboalimentado, el cual genera 240 caballos de fuerza, junto a una transmisión automática de 6 velocidades y tracción delantera.

Septiembre 2015

  • Se hacen actualizaciones al modelo para refrescar su diseño (facelift MY2016).
  • Motor EcoBoost de 2.0 Lts es reemplazado por una variante de 2.3 Lts, también straight-4 turboalimentado, generando 270 caballos de fuerza, misma transmisión automática de 6 velocidades pero con tracción 4WD (se descontinúan variantes con tracción delantera).

Enero 2018

  • Segundo facelift aplicado (MY2018)

Noviembre 2019

  • Termino de producción, se reemplaza por una nueva generación del mismo modelo.
